We recognize that smaller, community-based organizations around the world are doing work that advances our shared goals. That’s why we support a small number of these organizations in the developing world through our Global Partners program.

We’re in the midst of a $250,000 Matching Gift Challenge in support of our Global Partners program, and I hope I can count on your participation today.
Our Global Partners program lends much needed support to smaller organizations working on removing barriers to girls’ education, conserving wildlife through public health, and providing reproductive health care and family planning services. The problems these organizations tackle—much like rapid population growth—are global issues with local effects.
The founder of our Global Partner Lemur Love in Madagascar, Marni LeFleur, said:
…sustainable conservation is not compatible with extreme poverty (such as is found in Madagascar), so protecting lemurs also means investing in local people.
That’s why Lemur Love’s conservation strategy for lemurs and their habitat includes working with local people on small-scale sustainable development programs, which improve livelihoods and decrease the need to extract forest resources for subsistence. We’re proud to partner with them in these innovative endeavors.
