Friend, I won't beat around the bush: I'm emailing to ask you to chip in $5 to my reelection campaign in Ohio. Let me tell you why.

Right now, Politico reports that Democrats' chances of defending our Senate majority could hinge on winning this race. In other words: I have a giant target on my back.

Mitch McConnell is doing everything in his power to flip this battleground seat red, and one of my ultra-wealthy GOP opponents just spent millions flooding the airwaves with a new TV ad. With recent polls showing this race neck and neck, I need more grassroots resources to fight back right away.

That's why I set a goal to raise $200,000 before the end of the month – but as of now, I'm not on track to reach it. Friend, Senate control is at stake in Ohio, and I simply can't afford to fall behind. 

So, I'm asking you to give $5 today. It might not seem like much in the face of the GOP's millions, but when thousands of folks like you chip in, it adds up fast. Believe me. Please, will you give $5 or more now to help me reach my critical end-of-month goal, win in Ohio, and defend the Senate?
