A 92-Year-Old “Cowboy Poet” Who Shared His Purpose
A whopping 6 foot 3 with snow white hair and a beard, David meant a lot of things to many people. Including the friends he made through an aging well program created by NCOA.
“He was one of the most positive people I’ve ever met,” one person said. “David was open with his feelings,” said another.
David challenged himself to do one new thing every day. Even when he was hospitalized with COVID, David still made good on this promise to himself. From the ICU, he used his cell phone to join the group’s regular coffee session by video. His told his friends with a smile, “something new every day.”
An hour later, he passed away.
Everyone deserves to find purpose and joy as they age.
