While food insecurity is devastating for everyone, it is particularly harmful for children and their families. Food insecurity has been shown to negatively impact a child's physical health and their mental development – it threatens their social capacity, their physical ability, and their overall readiness for school and work.

All of our programs at the Coalition Against Hunger help get Philly kids the food they need to live healthy lives. Each summer, when school is not in session and families are challenged to provide meals that are otherwise served at school, we operate a dedicated  Summer Meals Hotline and Site Map to ensure our local children have the food they need through the summer months.
