Giving Tuesday

TODAY is GivingTuesday!

Dear John,

On GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, please consider donating to LCA and joining our fight for animal rights!

When you donate to LCA, you will help us expose animal cruelty and feel good knowing you are making a difference. Here is some of the work we have accomplished in 2023 with your support.

Ending the Dog Meat Trade in S. Korea with Sister Org. Animal Liberation Wave (ALW): In early November, the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), S. Korea's main opposition party, voted unanimously to support legislation ending the dog meat trade at a party level. LCA/ALW was at the press conference (see photo below) and attended the demonstration outside the S. Korea National Assembly.

Stop Dog Meat in S. Korea

The DPK's support of the legislation was intended to pressure the ruling People Power Party (PPP) to act on the issue before the end of 2023. The pressure worked and the PPP announced it intended to ban dog meat by the end of 2023. We will keep you updated on this historic announcement and possible end to the S. Korean dog meat trade. Donate here to help make real change for the animals.

Exposing Animal Abuse at Prosciutto di Parma Supplier Farms: In June, LCA Europe released their first undercover investigation exposing Italian pig farms located in north-central Italy.

Italian Pig Farm

The footage documented horrendous conditions and animal neglect at three separate pig farms authorized to breed and supply Parma Ham for the producers of Prosciutto di Parma. On all three farms, totaling 34,00 pigs, there was a blatant disregard for the animals. LCA's investigation showed an ongoing pattern of animal abuse and unsanitary practices in the "gold standard" of Italy's Prosciutto di Parma. Your donation keeps LCA's investigators in the field.

Busting California's Illegal Fur Sales: On January 1st, California became the first state in the nation to ban the sale of new fur products. However, some California retailers are ignoring the law and continuing to sell new fur. After an undercover investigation, LCA successfully sued a retail store in Southern California for illegal fur sales. The store agreed to "immediately cease any unlawful sales" and paid all attorney fees.

This was the first successful lawsuit upholding California's historic fur ban. In early November, an LCA investigator documented an additional four stores selling new fur (photo from investigation video above). Lawsuits against these retailers are in progress and investigations continue.

We have been able to fight on behalf of animals for over 35 years because of people like you. Please donate on GivingTuesday and join the fight for animal rights! THANK YOU!
