I’m not like most politicians,
John.

Back when I was a kid, I lost three fingers on my left hand in a
meat-grinding accident in my family’s butcher shop.

I’ve lived my entire life on the same farm my grandparents first
homesteaded more than 100 years ago. I balance my work as Montana’s senior
senator with my farm responsibilities—it’s not easy, but it grounds me.
That explains a lot about me. I am and always will be a dirt farmer from
Montana.

Here’s why I’m telling you this: Just like my $12 flattop haircut from my
local barbershop back home and my collection of dirt-stained t-shirts, my
background is a big reason I like to do things differently than most
people in Washington.

I’m not here to take orders from super PACs or special interests. I’m a
dirt farmer with seven fingers trying to do what’s right for the people of
Montana and this country.

I promise I’ll do everything I can to keep fighting to protect our public
lands, create good-paying jobs, and lower costs for hardworking families.
But our campaign’s success depends on how this grassroots team responds
