Dear John,
Giving Tuesday is here, and there is no better cause to support than the God-given right of you and your family to continue to freely live out your faith.
That’s why a generous friend of First Liberty put forth a $50,000 Challenge Grant. He not only wants to maximize the impact of your gift, but also wants to make sure that religious freedom is protected for generations to come.
Join the Fight and Become a Force Multiplier for Freedom Maximize Your Gift with Our $50,000 Challenge Grant by Midnight
I am deeply thankful for your support throughout 2023. Defending religious liberty has been particularly challenging this year.
The attacks on faith have been more hostile than any in recent memory.
But you have faithfully stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us through every fight and every win, including the major precedent-setting victory for Gerald Groff at the Supreme Court.
And yet, while you and I celebrate these victories, the battle for our First Freedom is far from over.
Faith is still under attack.
Right now, we need your help to defend first responders like Fire Chief Ron Hittle.
Fire Chief Ron Hittle was fired because he attended a leadership conference that was held at a church.
It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true.
After 24 years of faithful service to his community, the City of Stockton, California terminated Ron for attending a world-class, church-hosted leadership conference.
When the City of Stockton fired Chief Hittle, they gave him a list of 10 “charges.” The first five were all related to his religion.
The city notice removing him from his job listed his attendance at what they deemed a “religious event” and allowing other members of the department to attend as the primary reasons for his termination.
It’s not every day that an employer makes clear that its top reasons for firing an employee were because of their religious faith and activities but that’s exactly what the City of Stockton did.
Discriminating against and firing employees because of their religion is illegal.
You and I both know that our first responders deserve better treatment than what Ron has received from the City of Stockton.
Together, we must stand with Ron and his decision to live out his faith while serving as a first responder.
And there’s no better time than today – Giving Tuesday – to do just that.
Today and today only, your gift’s impact will be multiplied many times over with our $50,000 Challenge Grant.
Will You Stand and Protect our First Responders? Don’t Let Them be Purged Because of their Faith!
Americans should not have to choose between their faith and their livelihood.
Let’s stand together to protect the faith of all first responders.
Yes, I will make a gift today »
Grateful for you,
Kelly
