John,
My heart is still so very broken after the horrific massacre in Lewiston last month.
We never could have imagined something so appalling could happen here in Maine, but sadly no place is immune to gun violence.
As you may know, today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back to the causes you care about that make a difference in our communities. Each year, I ask our supporters to donate to some incredible charities here in Maine working to make life better for those who truly need it — and this year is no different.
This Giving Tuesday, I hope you will consider making a donation to the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund from the Maine Community Foundation, which directly supports those affected by this mass shooting.
The organization has waived administrative fees so that 100% of your donation will go to victims and families of this tragedy. You can choose whether your full donation will go to victims and survivors, or split with the broader recovery effort.
If you'd like to learn more about the Response Fund, how money is distributed, and more, you can visit their FAQ page here.
Thank you for everything you do to help the families and communities affected by this tragic mass shooting.
All my best,
Chellie
