Late last night, the House budget committee leaked its list of witnesses for their hearing on what they call a “fiscal commission”―but what we know is a death panel for Social Security and Medicare.

The list is all-but-limited to politicians who have dedicated themselves to destroying Social Security and Medicare―led by retiring Sen. Mitt Romney.

As a reminder, Senator Romney:

• Ran for President in 2012 by promising to raise the retirement age, make benefits smaller, and privatize Medicare¹

• Selected Paul Ryan, who spent decades leading the charge to destroy Social Security and Medicare, as his running mate²

• Introduced the TRUST Act during the pandemic, hoping to trigger automatic closed-door commissions to slash our earned benefits³

Mitt Romney may have cultivated a reputation as an anti-MAGA figure when he cast a vote to impeach Donald Trump. But on Social Security and Medicare, Romney and MAGA Mike Johnson are in lockstep.

We need to mobilize to STOP this commission. It’s not too late―this is a fight we can win. But we need to stick together. Can you chip in $7 to fund our fight on Capitol Hill?
