Dear John,

We are pleased to inform everyone that Senate Bill 664 (Privacy Amendment) has been withdrawn.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the sponsor, Senator Susan Lee, for her willingness to discuss and listen to our concerns. From the time this bill was introduced, Senator Lee assured us that her intent regarding this legislation was to protect people in Maryland from the unauthorized collection of personal data and not to enshrine a right to abortion in our constitution.

We are grateful that she recognized our concerns and will work to craft legislation that more accurately accomplishes her goals concerning data privacy.??

Please call or email Senator Lee and thank her for decision to withdraw Senate Bill 664.
