"I’m proud of being one of the longest serving board members at CS, and now continue to support the organization financially. Having worked for decades with Indigenous Peoples in Colombia, I’ve seen firsthand the need for the continued work of CS." - Jean Jackson

We wanted to share a few of our accomplishments in 2023:
- Our Keepers of the Earth Fund supported 72 projects in 21 countries on issues related to land defense and autonomy; the transmission of Indigenous knowledge; food sovereignty and Indigenous economies; and the various forms of resistance to mining for the energy transition.
- Our Indigenous Community Media Fund supported 60 media projects that will benefit 87 Indigenous Peoples in 20 countries.
- In collaboration with the Keepers of the Earth Fund program, we distributed $31,000 in funding to 7 Indigenous defenders in need of urgent support.
- We awarded 43 Fellowships to Indigenous youth to build capacities in Indigenous rights, Indigenous languages, cultures, and Traditional Knowledge.
- We gathered 15 Indigenous women defenders in the Amazon Basin to exchange land defense experiences, develop digital technology skills, and build a network of mutual support.
- We supported 4 Indigenous writers as a part of our Indigenous Writers Residency Program.
- We submitted 6 reports on Indigenous rights to UN mechanisms monitoring human rights implementation in Russia, Chile, Bolivia, Mexico, and Malaysia.
None of this would be possible without supporters like you! Join Cultural Survival as we support, elevate, and amplify Indigenous-led solutions and work towards an equitable redistribution of resources to Indigenous communities across the world. We invite you to Indigenize philanthropy alongside us and donate on #GivingTuesday by pledging your support for Indigenous rights, leadership, and solutions as we co-create a more just, equitable, and balanced world for us today, tomorrow, and the next seven generations.

Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures and political resilience since 1972. We envision a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
