Dear John,

After several years of drought across much of eastern Africa, rains have finally returned. Unfortunately, these rains have not proven to be the godsend that many people hoped, with the baked earth unable to absorb the water quickly enough.

Now, following heavy rainfall across the region, floods are devastating communities and spreading disease. Hundreds of thousands of people are faced with flooded homes, damaged roads, inaccessible settlements, dead livestock, ruined crops, lack of food and contaminated water sources.

Please donate today and help communities keep people safe and healthy! [[link removed]]

We are working with communities in Ethiopia and Kenya at this critical time to ensure that families can access vital supplies and health workers can reach those in need.

A donation of £8 could pay for two water purification packs, so a family can drink water that is free from contamination. Please give whatever you can to our urgent appeal [[link removed]] today and help communities dealing with this devastating emergency.

In solidarity,

Siaffa Bunduka,

Supporter Engagement Manager

P.S. Whatever you can give will help to distribute emergency supplies to affected communities.
