Hello John!
I'm Novela Salazar, one of the members of the board of directors at Santa Fe Dreamers Project (SFDP). As the year-end approaches and we reflect on challenges and accomplishments in 2023, I am again reminded of the remarkable role SFDP plays in transforming our community for the better. Thanks to the dedication of SFDP’s legal advocates and partners, they have continued to find ways to have a significant impact that uplifts the rights of immigrants and respects their voices. I hope others will be as moved by their work as I am and take time this giving season to support them through a charitable contribution.
As testimonials from clients and updates in Santa Fe Dreamers Project’s Annual Reports highlight, SFDP finds the best vehicle to empower hundreds of immigrant families and provide excellent advocacy. Staff, supporters, and partners continue to work together to change, and in many cases, transform their communities for the better.
Earlier this month, I had the privilege of witnessing a Naturalization Ceremony for 122 applicants from 49 different countries, seven of whom were SFDP clients. It is a truly remarkable experience to witness new citizens finalize their difficult journey and take the Oath of Citizenship. A charitable contribution to SFDP can make a critical difference in their efforts in providing legal aid to migrants. Even small amounts can make a big difference, making it possible for another client to over come barriers to legal services.
Giving Tuesday provides an opportunity to pursue generosity with empathy and solidarity. Santa Fe Dreamers Project’s strategic communication and storytelling uplifts client-centered services and community support. Help make a difference and support SFDP’s Mission to promote economic empowerment, community development, family unity, and liberation from detention. Such support is currently stretching the reach of SFDP and their local impact. This Giving Tuesday, celebrate the priorities, spirit and aspiration of SFDP and its community.
In solidarity,
Novela Salazar, Board of Directors
