John,

We’ve been so successful using shareholder action to get companies to change bad behaviour that hardline Republicans in the US are bending over backwards to shut down programs like ours!

A couple years ago, we got Apple to publish its first-ever human rights policy…and last year, to reveal previously secretive information about its supply chain. Shareholder pressure works. So Republicans are responding by trying to ban big investors from even considering human rights or climate change in their investment decisions!

They’re trying to make it impossible for shareholders to make companies behave better. But, John, we can still fight back.

If 5000 people reading this email chip in just a little, Ekō can buy more shares in Apple – plus other Big Tech and even climate-wrecking Big Oil companies – to keep up the pressure on the worst corporate execs, no matter what Republicans do.

Everything you give will be used to generate matching donations from big donors – can you join in to keep shareholder activism alive?

This isn’t our first shareholder appeal. With the help of generous members of the Ekō community, Ekō has bought shares in companies like Apple and Microsoft already, and filed or worked with other shareholders to file more than 10 resolutions in the last year. Together we can do more, buying enough shares to have a seat at the table fighting for everything from climate to workers rights to regulation of toxic lies on social media.

Republicans and their big-money donors are terrified of programs like ours. They see that shareholder power could force corporations to think about something other than how much profit they can pocket, with no regard for people or planet. So they are doing everything they can to scare big shareholders out of working with groups like us, and to make it harder to file our powerful resolutions.

That’s why we need to push ahead now more than ever. If these Trump/MAGA Republicans get their way, we will lose a critical tool for holding corporations to account. We need to fight back against these extremist politicians who think corporations protecting people and planet is “woke”.

John, can you help us buy shares in more companies to ensure we keep a seat at the table – and keep shareholder activism alive?

Thanks for all that you do,
Danny and the Ekō team
