I am shocked and disgusted after seeing what happened at this week’s Oklahoma State Education Board meeting.
These are scary times for our education system in Oklahoma. If Ryan Walters is successful in taking away the accreditation of Tulsa Public Schools, our largest school district, he won’t hesitate to take it away from every district in our state. If we allow him to get his way, there will absolutely be major overhauls to public education in Oklahoma, and all of them horrifying. Can we count on you to contribute to our efforts in standing up to these far-right interest groups that are attempting to dictate what our children learn?

Make no mistake - what has played out over the past year in our state is intentional and planned. The Superintendent has blatantly attacked and emboldened the most radical elements of the far right to fight against our public schools. We CAN NOT allow him to win. We MUST stand up to the far-right rhetoric that is running rampant in our State Board of Education.
When Tulsa schools needed the State Board of Education to do the correct thing, Ryan Walters and his cronies ignored them. He chose his political agenda over the needs of our teachers and students.
