My entire life, I’ve seen firsthand what Special Olympics makes possible – for the remarkable athletes, for every loyal coach, volunteer, and supporter, and for our entire society. My mother knew that by creating a world where each one of us is called by name, where there are a million different abilities but no disabilities, a global movement of dignity, solidarity, and love would rise and be sustained. 

Every day, in almost every country in the world, Special Olympics is a home for athletes with ID of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds. But for every person with ID who has found Special Olympics, there are still 13 more who haven’t had the chance to get off the sidelines.
