Israel, Hamas Extend Ceasefire Two Additional Days

Katie Pavlich: A deal to extend the current, four day ceasefire between Hamas and Israel in exchange for additional hostages was reached Monday afternoon. The hope is an additional two day ceasefire will allow more time for hostages to be released by Hamas, including Americans, in exchange for violent Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails. The announcement was made by Qatar, a country harboring Hamas leaders in swanky hotels and working as a broker between the two parties (Townhall). ABC: Eleven more hostages were released from Gaza on Monday in exchange for 33 Palestinians held in Israel, Qatari officials said (ABC). Lawyer Brooke Goldstein: Tonight eleven more precious lives came back home to Israel, 9 of them, children. Even after the release of dozens of hostages, still 160 innocent Israelis remain in captivity. Demand their release (X)! National Review: White House spokesman John Kirby said earlier Monday that no Americans were believed to be among the latest group of hostages (National Review).

Elon Musk Visits Israel, Tours Kibbutz Attacked by Hamas
Wall Street Journal: Elon Musk said that those “intent on murder must be neutralized” after touring an Israeli community recently attacked by Hamas, just weeks after the billionaire described an antisemitic social-media post on X as “the actual truth.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday took Musk on a tour through Kfar Aza, a kibbutz attacked on Oct. 7. Netanyahu later showed Musk a video of the attacks on Israeli civilians, and the two men then livestreamed a conversation on X. Musk later met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog along with relatives of some of the hostages taken to Gaza. Herzog’s office said the meeting had the aim “of revealing clearly and in depth” the massacre that occurred last month. It also said the meeting would emphasize the need to halt “the rising anti-Semitism on social-media networks” (Wall Street Journal). Axios: Elon Musk told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday that he wants to help rebuild Gaza after the end of the Israel-Hamas war. “We have to demilitarize Gaza after the destruction of Hamas, and we have to deradicalize Gaza … and then we have to also rebuild Gaza,” Netanyahu said in a live chat with Musk on X. “I’d like to help as well,” Musk said, before mentioning the importance of rebuilding Japan and Germany after WWII (Axios).

Oren: War with Hamas Forcing Israel to Chose Between Israel’s Body or Soul
Oren: The war with Hamas is forcing us to decide between Israel’s body and our nation’s soul. Israel was created with a double identity, Jewish and democratic. Yet that duality was mirrored by Israel’s twin missions: to guarantee our fundamental security and sanctify our citizens’ lives. The state would defend itself while promising that those who we send off to defend it will never be left behind. Israel pledged to ensure both our physical and moral existence, our body as well as our soul. This is our fundamental, nightmarish, dilemma. Either we give priority to restoring our deterrence power and returning the more than 200,000 displaced Israelis to their homes, or we focus primarily on securing the hostages’ freedom. Either we convince Iran and its proxies never to attack us again and persuade additional Arab countries to make peace with an indomitable Jewish state, or we fulfill Israel’s oath to never abandon our fellow Israelis. Either we accept an Israel that may well be rendered defenseless or an Israel that our citizens may no longer be willing to defend (Times of Israel).

Over 32,000 Babies Have Been Saved Since the Dobbs Decision
Fox News: Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, at least 30,000 babies have been born that would have otherwise been aborted. The 32,000 babies were born in states that enacted some form of abortion restriction, according to the study conducted by the Institute of Labor Economics that looked at the effects of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which returned the issue of abortion to the states. “Our primary analysis indicates that in the first six months of 2023, births rose by an average of 2.3 percent in states enforcing total abortion bans compared to a control group of states where abortion rights remained protected” (Fox News). Lila Rose: Absolutely amazing. 32,000 boys and girls were saved, protected from being killed by abortion, because of the fall of Roe and the life-saving laws that went into effect. Every one of these children is a miracle. This is why we do this work (X). 40 Days for Life: The ripple effect of Roe v. Wade’s overturning? A breathtaking wave of life, with 32,000 more babies born. Portland Teachers’ Strike Ends After Three Weeks Out of Classroom
Washington Examiner: Oregon’s largest school district said late Sunday it had reached a tentative agreement with its teachers union and roughly 45,000 students would be back in school Monday after more than three weeks without classes. The agreement must still be voted on by teachers who have been on the picket line since Nov. 1 over issues of pay, class sizes, and planning time. It must also be approved by the school board, but the union agreed that classes could resume while those votes go forward. Portland Public Schools students missed 11 days of school before the district began its weeklong Thanksgiving break (Washington Examiner). Hill: The union has been bargaining for a new contract with PPS since its previous one expired in June. The school district has said it did not have enough funds to fulfill the union’s needs and demands. In June, the state Legislature approved a record $10.2 billion K-12 budget for the next two years, but school district representatives said that wasn’t enough (Hill).

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Blames MAGA for Ukraine Trade Bill Failing
Townhall: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed MAGA thinking for the Conservative Party’s decision to vote against an update to the Canada Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. He rejected the explanation offered by Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre that the reason the party voted unanimously against the agreement was over concerns about carbon tax wording (Townhall). Ian Miles Cheong: Justin Trudeau says the Canadian conservatives are being tricked by “MAGA conservatives” who “parrot Russian disinformation” (X). PJ Media: Trudeau has been scaring Canadians about the MAGA bogeyman since the “Freedom Convoys” of 2022, which partially shut down commerce with the U.S. and enabled Trudeau to use the draconian “Emergencies Act” to break up the protests. The protests were 100%, homegrown Canadian, and had nothing to do with Trump or MAGA. Whenever Trudeau finds it convenient, he pulls out his “Blame MAGA” card and plays it to the hilt (PJ Media).

Former NBC Journalist Hit With Incitement to Terrorism Charges by Jerusalem DA
Jerusalem Post: The Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office charged former NBC journalist Marwat Al-Azza with incitement to terrorism and identification with a terrorist group, the Hebrew news site Ynet reported. Azza was arrested about two weeks ago, on Thursday, November 16, following posts she had made to her personal Facebook page about the October 7 attack on Israel (Jerusalem Post).

Biden Administration Tries Spinning a Good Economy
But Americans aren’t feeling it. Townhall: Speaking to reporters at the White House Monday, Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre touted the “success” of the Biden economy. She then had trouble answering a basic question about why Americans aren’t buying what she’s selling. When President Trump was in office, inflation was .7 percent. Today, it’s still near 4 percent. Costs for everyday household items, energy and food are still through the roof (Townhall). Breaking911: KJP: “When we walked into this administration, the economy was on a tailspin — that is the fact — because of the last administration, because of the Trump administration” (X). RNC Research: BIDEN: “Wages for working families have gone up while inflation has come down 65%!” Prices have gone up by 17.6% since Biden took office, while real wages have declined by 3% (X).

WSJ: Testing Shows Instagram Algorithm Pushes Content of Salacious Children to Adults
As Meta platforms attract “large communities of users interested in pedophilic content.” Wall Street Journal: Instagram’s Reels video service is designed to show users streams of short videos on topics the system decides will interest them, such as sports, fashion or humor. The Meta Platforms-owned social app does the same thing for users its algorithm decides might have a prurient interest in children, testing by The Wall Street Journal showed. The Journal sought to determine what Instagram’s Reels algorithm would recommend to test accounts set up to follow only young gymnasts, cheerleaders and other teen and preteen influencers active on the platform. Instagram’s system served jarring doses of salacious content to those test accounts, including risqué footage of children as well as overtly sexual adult videos—and ads for some of the biggest U.S. brands. The Canadian Centre for Child Protection, a child-protection group, separately ran similar tests on its own, with similar results (Wall Street Journal).

Education Secretary Miguel Cardona Botches One of Ronald Reagan’s Most Famous Lines
New York Post: Education Secretary Miguel Cardona might want to take a refresher course in history. A newly unearthed clip of Cardona has revealed the Biden Cabinet member shamelessly borrowing — and changing the meaning of — former President Ronald Reagan’s famous attack on big government during a meeting with Western state governors in Wyoming earlier this month (New York Post). Townhall: Education Secretary Miguel Cardona: “I think it was President Reagan who said, ‘We’re from the government. We’re here to help!'” Here’s the actual quote: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help” (X). Rep. Eric Burlison: Miguel Cardona is the exact person President Reagan warned us about (X).
