John,

Last week, our 2023 Water Quality Report [[link removed]]revealed that water companies discharged sewage across the UK 399,864 times in 2022. That's the equivalent of 1,091 times every single day.

It's disgusting. Whilst our report made the headlines with shocking tales of sickness and hard data, water companies were on the back foot, scrambling for poor excuses. They know that we have all had enough.

With our voice getting louder and louder, together we can end the sewage scandal. But we need your help to keep the pressure on.

Hannah fell ill after taking part in the 2023 Thames Marathon:

"I had sickness, I had diarrhea, I was in bed for 24 hours. My symptoms lasted 48 hours, and I felt unwell for a week afterwards [...] after reporting it to the event, it was clear a significant number of people were ill."

And Hannah's is just one of the stories we heard in the 2023 Water Quality Report. [[link removed]] Communities across the UK shared the devastating cost of sewage pollution. Of lifelong sickness and pets dying. Of events cancelled, wages lost. Of anxiety and stress about using the water they love.

We are a charity and rely on the support of our members. Could you fund ocean activism that shouts for a thriving ocean and thriving people? [[link removed]]
