Dear Valued Supporter,
This time of year, things are really busy – and it's only going to get busier!
We feel it here at Geelong Mums too. My team is working round the clock to make sure we help as many families as we can before Christmas Day. We all feel the pressure to do everything possible to make this festive season joyful for those who need us.

We know that sometimes it’s hard to understand who these families really are. Who is at the other end of a donated pram? Who really gets a bundle of clothes packed so lovingly by our volunteers? Where is the impact of your donation actually felt?
So allow me to introduce Edil, a proud mum who turned to us for help. Life has presented some serious challenges for her, but Edil is strong and resilient. Every day, she gets up and faces those challenges head on. All while raising her 5 beautiful children.
This festive season, give a gift that really counts. [[link removed]]

Edil left her home in Ethiopia as a refugee when she was just 11. Uprooted rom everything she had known, she showed her resilience by building a new life in Melbourne. Fast forward to 2020, Edil and her partner were working hard, providing for their kids and building a life full of love and joy.
Then COVID hit – and, like it did for so many of us, life suddenly changed for Edil. The Family Day Care that Edil was running and earning a decent income from to support her family, had to close. Edil's business was gone right when she needed it the most. And Edil was also pregnant.
Suddenly her whole life turned upside down. The stress and pressure of losing their income along with the reality of another baby on the way had a negative impact on her relationship and it ultimately broke down. She has been alone with her 5 children ever since. Her strength and resilience kept her going but she was barely managing to keep her head above water.
That’s where your support really makes a positive difference in a family’s life.
Because of supporters just like you , Geelong Mums was able to step in and relieve some of the pressure. Among the essentials that Edil received were clothing bundles for all the kids – keeping them warm and clothed for a whole year.
We also sent her a pram giving her the freedom to leave home with her three youngest and get to important appointments and pick up the daily essentials from the shops.
Give the gift of freedom: $123 can help provide prams for parents to get out of the house for important appointments [[link removed]]
The stark reality is that there are thousands more families and carers struggling, just like Edil in local communities all over Victoria. There is little joy in this Festive Season for them.
Without your support, these children will, quite simply, miss out. It takes a village to raise a child – so come and join ours – every donation really does help change a child’s life. [[link removed]]
Thank you so much for your ongoing support,
