Team,

In a moment I'm going to ask you to chip in $5, $25, or whatever you can to help support my reelection campaign as we look ahead to 2024. >> [link removed]. But first let me explain why it's so important and what's at stake:

Growing up I never imagined becoming New Hampshire's first openly gay member of Congress. It's a testament to the acceptance and progress we've achieved, all thanks to the incredible support of folks like you.

Yet the threat of extreme legislators who want to rewrite history and erode our fundamental rights persists. Speaker Mike Johnson is actively pushing policies that could marginalize and harm millions of LGBTQ+ Americans, and his track record is alarming. Just take a look:

Johnson served as an attorney for the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) in the early 2000s, a labeled "hate group" that actively sought to criminalize same-sex activity, oppose same-sex marriage, and restrict LGBTQ+ rights.

Johnson advocated for criminalizing same-sex consensual sex in a prominent amicus brief for the Lawrence v. Texas Supreme Court case.

Johnson supported a 2004 constitutional amendment in Louisiana to ban same-sex marriage, expressing concerns about potential societal shifts, including people marrying animals.

Johnson chaired the Republican Study Committee and allegedly pressured Amazon to lift its ban on books by a pro-conversion therapy author.

And team, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Throughout my career I've proudly fought for LGBTQ+ Americans. Nearly 20 years ago, I spoke out on the NH House floor against a bill aiming to prevent the recognition of same-sex marriages performed in Massachusetts.

We've made great strides towards equality, and we cannot let an outspoken minority, led by extreme Republicans like Mike Johnson, jeopardize our rights. As we set our sights on 2024, I'm ready to continue championing the rights of ALL Granite Staters. But team — I can't do it alone.

Will you chip in $5, $25, or whatever you can to help fuel my reelection campaign and ensure the House majority doesn't remain in the hands of extremist Republicans like Mike Johnson? >> [link removed]

Thank you,

Chris
