# [#]John,
As I travel around the district, listening to Oregonians, I’m often asked about my why: Why are you running for Congress? My answer is based on what my mom said when I was 8 years old.
“Always leave a place better than you found it.”

Back then, my single mom worked hard to feed her two kids. She would wake early to drive a school bus, teach all day, then drive students home. In the summers, she picked fruit to make ends meet. Despite barely getting by, she maintained a steady optimism about the future and encouraged us to do the same. She inspired my lifelong commitment to bringing people together to build healthier communities.
With the challenges we face — working people struggling to get by, environmental crisis, our rights and democracy under attack — we need Congress to focus on solving problems. That’s why I’m running.
I’m running for the clerk at Costco who thanked my wife, Cass, for our campaign fighting to take the priorities of working people to Congress.
I’m running for the sustainability teacher at Caldera High School who is educating students about how the choices we make are impacting our environment.
I’m running for the union workers on the picket lines, who need someone in Congress who will have their backs.
And I’m running for the parents and their kids who share my belief that our children deserve to have their fundamental rights protected and their planet safe and healthy.
Our campaign is about us and the issues that matter to everyday Oregonians — and the power we have to do something about them…together.
As your next Congresswoman, I will work every day to make sure our priorities are heard in Congress.
Together, we can make sure that Oregon’s 5th district gets the representative it deserves.
Please join our campaign today and help us take our priorities to the halls of Congress in 2024! [[link removed]]If you saved your information with ActBlue Express clicking a link below will cause your donation to process instantly:
