Last week, the Voting Rights Act suffered another blow when a federal court issued a ruling that would effectively bar private citizens or civil rights groups from filing lawsuits under the part of the law that prohibits election practices that discriminate based on race.

Dem AGs have already started speaking out against the decision, which will likely be appealed to the Supreme Court. But it’s clear that election security and voter protections will be a huge issue heading into the 2024 election — and Republicans aren’t playing fair.
