Lauren Underwood For Congress

John,

A recent legal development out of the U.S. Court of Appeals significantly impacts our ongoing efforts to protect and expand voting rights for millions of voters of color nationwide.

This federal court ruling upholds a lower court’s decision barring groups like NAACP, voting rights groups, and private citizens from suing under a clause in the Voting Rights Act that aims to prevent discrimination in state and local election laws.

The fight for equitable election practices and protected voting rights is ongoing and this news fuels our team’s work for progress.

But our campaign is currently tracking behind our November fundraising goal, and time is running out to meet our targets before the end of the month. If we stay at this pace, we won't reach our goal on time.

Missing our goals puts us in a sticky situation — we risk missing out on crucial opportunities to advocate for fair election practices and protect the rights of marginalized communities. These issues have never been more important, especially in the face of recent setbacks in the fight for equal voting rights.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, can make a significant difference in our ability to achieve fair representation and protect equal voting rights. Please donate before November 30 to help us reach our goal. Together, we can create a better future for our democracy.

Every day, we must take a stand for our values and build our momentum to flip the scales for Democrats.
