* He came to the U.S with his mother at age 5. He understands the vital importance of creating opportunities for working people, no matter where they come from.

* He understands our city. After getting his master’s in City Planning from MIT, he worked for two San Francisco mayors, Willie Brown and Gavin Newsom. These mayors taught him what really makes San Francisco work—its working people.

* He brings labor and business together. While working as a labor organizer, he helped raise San Francisco’s minimum wage, pass a Retail Workers’ Bill of Rights, and win Free City College for all.

* He fights for San Francisco. As District 11 supervisor, he’s building more affordable housing, bringing foot patrols to every neighborhood, demanding mandatory audits on homeless spending, and fighting City Hall corruption with accountability.
