While Jim Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach at OSU, dozens of athletes reported that a team doctor, Richard Strauss, was sexually assaulting them and others.

It has been widely reported that one of the OSU Coaches that received reports of abuse and knew of this abusive environment was Jim Jordan. Jordan would have interacted with victims of Strauss’ sexual abuse daily. 

Not surprisingly, Jim Jordan brushed off the athletes’ concerns at the time, and now he insists that he didn’t know anything at all—a completely unbelievable claim. Who is more credible, survivors of the abuse who have publicly said Jordan ignored them or Jim Jordan, a proven liar and self-serving politician?

I am absolutely infuriated by what happened to these incredible men, and the lack of accountability for Jim Jordan—who should have had the courage to step in and help them. And to make matter worse Jordan has taken this same dismissive attitude with him to DC where he uses the House Judiciary Committee to help cover up the crimes of the GOP and Former President Donald Trump.

While the athletes seek justice in the courts, I am more determined than ever to defeat Jim Jordan this election and deliver the political accountability that he deserves for leaving the young men he was charged with protecting vulnerable to abuse. Jordan was complicit/allegedly involved with the sexual abuse scandal at OSU. He was complicit/allegedly involved with January 6th GOP plot to interfere with the election. He is not an honest man who has our children’s and country’s best interests at heart. He doesn’t have the backbone or desire to stand up for what is right. 

Our children are still in danger of being abused by predators which is why as my first action as a Congresswoman I will introduce my bill, the Comprehensive Sexual Abuse Prevention and Accountability Act. A bill which among will add new sweeping protections and make enablers like Jim Jordan face real world consequences.

Jordan has got to go—and I am the woman who is going to FIRE him next November. My team has set an end of November goal of $25,000, and we are on target to make it, but I need your support to get there. Real leaders step up when called upon to help. If Jim Jordan doesn’t have the courage to stand with the athletes who looked up to him when he was their coach, he won’t ever have the courage to do the right thing for his constituents.
