Identifying an Effective Accommodation

A wealth of talent awaits employers who open doors to candidates with disabilities, and effective job accommodations are key to hiring and retaining them. In many cases, effective accommodations are obvious or easy to identify with little effort. But occasionally, an employer may not be able to identify an effective accommodation even after making a good faith effort to do so. What can employers do if this happens to them? The ODEP-funded Job Accommodation Network (JAN) offers ideas in a new publication: What Employers Can Do When They Cannot Identify an Effective Accommodation [ [link removed] ].

To learn more about identifying effective accommodations, contact JAN [ [link removed] ]. JAN?s A to Z resources [ [link removed] ] include listings for accommodations by disability/medical condition, or by limitation, such as memory loss or stress intolerance. JAN also offers training and development resources [ [link removed] ] to educate and enable employers of all types to meet accommodation and ADA compliance goals.
