Friends,

When Kim decided to run for Congress, she wanted to make sure every person in Washington's 8th district felt as though they had a voice in our political process. That's why one of the first things she did in office was co-sponsor H.R. 1, the For the People Act.

The For the People Act, which passed one year ago this month, is a sweeping piece of legislation to reform our elections, fight corruption, disclose funding sources, and return our democracy to the people. But for the past year, this bill has sat on Mitch McConnell's desk as he refuses to hold a vote in the Senate. We need to demand action.

With the recent COVID-19 outbreaks, it is now more important than ever that we have representatives in the other Washington who we can trust are working for us. Kim believes increasing accountability in our government is the only way we can truly protect our democracy, which is why she's made transparency an integral part of her campaign. From the start, Kim's refused to accept a dime of corporate PAC money so you can trust she's working for you and no one else.

But until we have election reforms written into law, we will continue to see our political system benefit the wealthy and well-connected instead of everyday people. Kim's ready to give power back to the people, are you with her?

We can't wait another year to reform our democracy. Join Dr. Kim Schrier by signing on as a citizen co-sponsor of the For the People Act today.
