Election offices in several states, including California, Georgia, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, have received envelopes by mail containing suspicious white powder. The simultaneous nature of these incidents raises alarms, and investigators are treating them as connected.

This threat comes at a time when election officials are already facing unprecedented challenges and pressures. False claims of a stolen election in 2020 have fueled a climate of hostility and harassment towards those working to safeguard our democracy.
