Ballotpedia has a 15+ year history addressing the ballot information problem. In 2020, we partnered with high school and college students as we know that Ballotpedia is a trusted resource for research and papers and students sought virtual volunteer opportunities. This led to the creation of the Ballotpedia Fellows Program. This program offers students research and writing skills and inspires political engagement.
Since 2020, the program has welcomed over 240 students, enhancing their skills, confidence, and understanding of remote work.
One Fellow shared, "After becoming a frequent user of Ballotpedia's services, especially for sample ballots, I knew that I wanted to participate in helping others receive the same services. With such a busy schedule, Ballotpedia's volunteer Fellows cohort has excellent student accommodations. I highly recommend this program to students pursuing politics, government, or additional forms of public service."
