John -
My name is Lila and when I was a teenager, I started volunteering with 350.org. I had just learned about the destruction fossil fuels caused our planet, and I couldn't sit back and watch the fossil fuel industry destroy the ecosystems and communities I loved.
I'm still fighting with 350.org (over a decade later!) because I've seen how they've stopped massive fossil fuel pipelines by bringing ordinary people together to take action. But 350.org needs our help — especially today — to build bigger and bolder climate campaigns next year:
Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday and it is a HUGE day for our climate movement — if we can reach 3,500 individual contributions by midnight tomorrow, we will unlock a $50,000 matching gift to build new climate campaigns all over the planet!
As someone who is a part of our climate movement, I'd be so grateful if you could make your first contribution today:
Since I started organizing with 350.org, communities all over the globe have won major victories against pipelines and coal plants.
But the collapse of our ecosystems has also happened faster than I could have imagined. For my community in Northern New England, we are experiencing drastic changes from historic drought and catastrophic flooding.
John, I'm here to tell you that I still have so much hope for our planet:
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has made billions of dollars available to build the energy transition in the United States — but our climate movement needs to make sure that this transition doesn't leave behind frontline communities who've been impacted by climate disasters.
It's not going to be easy, but the truth is that it will be impossible without the support of people like you. So today I'm asking you to help keep the hope alive and donate to 350.org today:
Your support means the world to all of us here at 350.org. Thank you for donating what you can today.
In solidarity,
Lila Kohrman-Glaser
