John —
I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to personally ensure you didn't miss the email below, about the IRC's incredible early Giving Tuesday match opportunity for our most valued supporters. This is an exclusive offer to double your impact for people facing unimaginable challenges by making your gift early.
I'm happy to share this special early match with you because your gift today can help refugees like me.
Let me tell you about my story. Until August 2021, I was a government employee in Afghanistan. I had to leave my home country suddenly because I was in danger. The day I left Afghanistan, I arrived at the Kabul airport early in the morning with just one bag and the clothes I was wearing. I faced an uncertain future, and though it was hard for me to leave my home and family behind, I knew I wouldn't be safe unless I did.
Thankfully, the IRC was there for me. When I got to the United States, they helped me not only with documents and housing, but they were a lifeline to rebuilding my life. Today, I am proud to work as a resettlement case worker for the IRC, helping other displaced families find new homes and connect with communities as they start new lives here. Because I'm a refugee myself, I understand the challenges displaced families face, and I also know firsthand the incredible impact your support can make. Now, you have an opportunity to multiply your impact with our special early Giving Tuesday match offer.
Will you help us make the most of this moment and stretch our power to help IRC provide safety, shelter, economic support, and other basic necessities to refugees with a special special, one-time MATCHED gift toward our $1,500,000 Giving Tuesday goal?
With gratitude,
— Shir Zad

John –
You are one of our most valued supporters, so I wanted you to be the first to see this special opportunity to double your impact – starting right now.
Because the needs around the world – from Gaza to Ukraine to Afghanistan – are so immense for children and families facing crisis, we are launching early access to our Giving Tuesday match. Starting today, John, your gift will go twice as far.
Will you seize this moment and make an early gift today? Your support is critical in providing essential aid to children and families navigating crisis zones worldwide.
Your gift holds the power to help IRC teams deliver urgently needed supplies, create safe shelter, and provide health care – empowering refugee and displaced families to reclaim control of their futures.
This is how your support can help transform lives:
- GAZA UPDATE: In Gaza, more than 1.5 million people have been displaced. It's a race against the clock to provide lifesaving emergency support. The IRC is working to scale up its response with partners. We are focused on immediate lifesaving health care and, increasingly, on infection prevention and control.
- In Ukraine, we've been providing health and legal services – and distributing cold weather and hygiene supplies to children and families.
- In Afghanistan, we've mobilized emergency health care and safety programs in the aftermath of recent devastating earthquakes, while continuing our economic support and protection work for children, women, and their families.
But John, the challenges we face are immense. Multiple crises worldwide have stretched our resources, just as harsh winter weather descends upon places like Ukraine and Afghanistan. We urgently need your support to reach as many people as possible.
This special early Giving Tuesday match is your chance to make an extraordinary impact during a critical time. Join us, and let's uplift families in the toughest corners of our world.
Make your Giving Tuesday gift right now and have it matched 2X — up to $1,500,000.
In gratitude for your incredible generosity,
Hank
