Commissioner Kyle Terpstra submitted his resignation from the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners on November 16, 2023. The Board of Commissioners is thankful for Commissioner Terpstra's years of service to the people of Ottawa County and wishes him and his family the best.

The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners will appoint a new commissioner to represent District 6 (Georgetown Charter Township, Precincts 9-17) to fill the remainder of the term, which ends December 31, 2024. According to Michigan law, the appointment must be made within 30 days of the vacancy.

Applications are due by Monday, December 4, 2023 at 9:00 AM. Anyone interested in the position can apply online at miottawa.org. On December 5, 2023, the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners will vote to determine which candidates to interview. Interviews will be conducted at a public meeting on December 8, 2023, at 9:30 AM.
