Donald Trump separated immigrant and refugee families. He put their children in cages. He called Nazis “very fine people” in the wake of a domestic terror attack in Charlottesville. And his criminally inept response to Hurricane Maria led to thousands of deaths in Puerto Rico.
He unleashes petty acts of cruelty against the most vulnerable communities daily.
We’re going to stop him.
At ASPIRE, we’re working tirelessly to elect diverse, progressive leaders to replace Trump and his enablers in Congress. The AAPI community is a rapidly growing demographic in key swing states, and we’re organizing now to make sure we have incredible candidates on the ballot in November. Our endorsed House challengers Gina Ortiz Jones and Sri Kulkarni won their primaries in Texas last week -- and Pritesh Gandhi advanced to a runoff in his congressional race. We’re going to help them expand the Democratic majority in the House. We’re turning out the vote in states where we can flip Senate seats and take the majority back from Mitch McConnell.
We are going to unseat this racist president by supporting progressive people of color.
But donations to ASPIRE have slowed down this week, less than three weeks before our candidates’ public FEC filing deadline. If we fall short of our fundraising goal, we’ll have to scale back our outreach programs, and we won’t be able to turn out the voters to counteract Trump’s growing base.
That’s why we’re writing you today. We’re $1,670 short of where we need to be this week to expand our turnout-the-vote efforts in Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia.
