Dear John,
A police officer is facing up to 65 years in prison for the “crime” of attempting to prevent a gang member from potentially retaliating against a rival, in the immediate aftermath of the George Floyd riots of 2020.
In October of 2020, Officer Sutton received a report that a gang member, Karon Hylton-Brown, was believed to be entering a local neighbor to retaliate against a rival gang.
Officer Sutton saw Karon illegally driving a moped on the sidewalk and activated his emergency lights to pull him over.
Being a criminal Karon immediately fled, and Officer Sutton pursued him.
After a brief chase Karon drove down an alleyway and out the other side recklessly into oncoming traffic where he was hit by a vehicle.
He then died a few days later.
Black Lives Matter and other defund the police movement groups immediately called for Officer Sutton to be tried for murder.
And they managed to charge and convict Terence Sutton with second-degree murder.
Officer Sutton is an innocent man. Will you step up and fight for him?
Terence Sutton took after his father, who was a career police officer, and joined the force.
