Dear John,
Over the last several weeks, the team at Inequality Media Civic Action has been testing a series of new videos aimed at educating the public and persuading voters that President Biden’s economic policies are working — and the results of our most recent tests are unbelievable.
One video that focused on why big corporations should be blamed for high prices for groceries moved conservative voters by more than 18 points. Non-college educated voters, a critical demographic group in key battleground states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, moved our way by 9 to 15 points.
In the past, we’d be celebrating if we could move a target audience by 3-5 points. The results we’re seeing now are off the charts.
We need to act fast to get these videos in front of as many people as possible, because part of the reason they are so effective is that this is a message that voters (and even non-voters) are particularly receptive to right now. So with Giving Tuesday around the corner, we’ve set a goal of raising $100,000 by midnight Tuesday to help power our work and jump on this opportunity.
Will you make a Giving Tuesday donation to Inequality Media Civic Action and help to help educate the public and get these videos in front of as many people as possible?
We’ve all seen the polling data showing how close the 2024 election is likely to be. And we know that the economy is likely to be one of the key issues influencing swing voters.
That’s why we need to pay particular attention to polling data showing that voters are giving higher approval ratings to Donald Trump on economic issues than Joe Biden, thanks mainly to horrid coverage of the economy by the corporate media.
Consider: The economy grew 4.9% over the last quarter. Unemployment has been under 4%for the last 21 months. Median household wealth has grown by 37%since the pandemic. Wages have been growing faster at the bottom of the economy than at the top. And inflation is way down from where it was a year ago. That economic data is about as good as it gets.
Meanwhile, President Trump presided over a historic net loss of nearly 3 million American jobs, the worst jobs numbers ever recorded under an American president. Joe Biden reopened the country, avoided the post-pandemic recession that many economists predicted, and did it all while making historic investments in infrastructure and clean energy.
But if voters don’t know that and believe it, then it won’t matter come Election Day.
That’s why I’m so excited about these latest test results. Our videos are changing minds in real time, and we’re not just preaching to the choir. In fact, we’re seeing the biggest shifts in public opinion among moderate, conservative, and very conservative voters!
Inequality Media Civic Action was founded to educate the public on key issues like these and correct misconceptions created by the corporate media. But as a grassroots-funded group, we rely on your donations to keep doing this work.
We’re aiming to raise $100,000 by Giving Tuesday to help power Inequality Media Civic Action and get these videos in front of as many people as possible. Will you make a donation today?
Thank you for helping get the truth out,
Robert Reich
