Dear Neighbor,

Serving as your voice in Congress is one of the greatest honors of my life. I am grateful for the privilege. I am also thankful for my incredible family and friends, near and far. On this holiday weekend, I hope that you are enjoying quality time with those you hold dear.  I am also mindful that we still have men and women in uniform serving around the globe who are not able to spend this holiday with their families. They are in my thoughts and continue to have my deepest gratitude.

Making Washington Work for You:

Fighting Inflation: Americans are spending $709 more each month just to buy the same goods and services than they spent just two years ago. Floridians simply can't afford more Bidenomics!  I’ll continue working to combat the reckless policies that have caused prices to soar!

Preventing the Spread of Pro-Terrorist and Anti-Semitic Rhetoric: My colleagues and I are pressing Big Tech to do more to prevent pro-terrorist and Anti-Semitic rhetoric from being spread on its platforms.  Click here to learn more about our efforts.

Supporting Seniors and Cancer Patients:  Three of the bills I've co-authored to help seniors are advancing through the legislative process. Click here to learn more about these important initiatives.

Additionally, technological advancements are improving outcomes for patients with cancer while minimizing side effects. I believe patients deserve to benefit from these advancements. My colleague and I have filed a bill to ensure cancer patients have access to whichever treatment gives them the best chance to fully recover. Click here to learn about how my bill will help.

Defending Life: By approving and then deregulating chemical abortion drugs, the FDA failed to follow Congress' statutorily prescribed drug approval process and subverted Congress' critical public policy interests in upholding patient welfare. My colleagues and I are asking the Court to prioritize patient safeguards that protect women and girls seeking chemical abortion drugs.

Learning from You Here at Home:

Last week, I held my annual Military Service Academy Selection interviews. In total, 26 of the brightest and most conscientious students in our community were interviewed by a panel of former military officers. Here is a snapshot of a few of them as they were waiting for their interviews. These impressive students have a strong desire to serve our country and to attend the most prestigious institutions in the nation. A special thank you to our military academy committee for taking the time to evaluate these candidates. I know they have a difficult task ahead of them as this was a truly remarkable group of students. I look forward to learning which candidates they have selected to move forward in the process.

I was also recently honored to speak at the Tunnels to Towers’ Never Forget Rolling 9/11 Museum unveiling at Tom Varn Park in Brooksville this weekend. It is so important that we remember and teach future generations about the lives who were lost and those that were forever changed by the terror attacks. This beautiful tribute is a wonderful way to do so. ImageImage

Additionally, while I am no proponent of big government spending, and I am actively working to rein in Washington’s reckless behavior, I do have a duty to ensure my community receives its fair share of allocated federal resources.  I am proud to have secured this funding for a project Dade City and the residents of Mickens-Harper have hoped for since 2011, and I’ll keep working to address water quality issues throughout Florida’s 12th Congressional District. Click here to learn more about this project.

Community Connection

I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties members of my team attended several events last week.  Here are a few highlights.

My team was proud to participate in the recent Farm to City event held in Inverness.  It was a great way to celebrate the tremendous contributions Florida's farmers make in keeping America fed.

My team also enjoyed the Celebration of Trees, an annual event held to benefit Good Samaritan, a free clinic in West Pasco.

Additionally, my team celebrated the opening of Clear Sky, a new rehabilitation facility in Lecanto.

Constituent Corner

My office recently received this message from a constituent after my team assisted him in obtaining VA benefits for his mother.

Just thanking the entire Bilirakis staff for your help navigating the VA to help us get my mom approved for survivor benefits.  The additional money she is now getting is making a huge difference and we wouldn't have known how to make that happen without the help of your office.

This is just one example of the work we do each day. Constituent services are a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. We are here to serve you!

Sincerely,
