URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Tell your Congressmembers to STOP Republican attacks on
endangered whales! Act now!

Republicans in Congress have two critically endangered whale species in their
crosshairs: the Gulf of Mexico Rice’s whale and the North Atlantic Right whale. Both could be extinct in just a few years without protection.

Rice’s whale habitat in the Gulf of Mexico is consistently threatened with oil
drilling by greedy fossil fuel companies. Protections for these gentle giants would BLOCK oil and gas leases and reduce
industry shipping traffic in the whale’s habitat – which is part of why Republicans are opposing protections.

Coastal communities understand the danger of offshore drilling. They’ve
experienced oil spills before: destroyed beaches, dead wildlife washing onto
shore, toxic pollution spiking serious health issues. Once a spill happens,
nothing is ever the same. Please, Friend, tell your member of Congress to OPPOSE
any attempts to weaken protections for endangered whales and fight offshore
drilling!

[[link removed]]Right whales in the North Atlantic are being hit and killed by ships. In fact, at least 16 whales have been struck by ships since 2017. Others die tangled in fishing gear. Proposed speed limits on vessels could save many whales, but Republicans are
trying to strip these protections too.

Fossil fuel profits are not more important than coastal communities or
endangered species. You and I know that, but we need to make sure our laws do
too.

Will you take just 30 seconds to help protect communities, whales, and our
oceans from Republicans in Congress? Send your message now >>
