On Tuesday, the power to preserve Pittsburgh’s information access will be in your hands.

Dear Reader,

Tuesday is a big day for Pittsburgh. Each year, on Giving Tuesday, people in our region show up for the causes they care about and the organizations that serve our communities. We’re excited to participate in the annual Give Big Pittsburgh event ([link removed]) , and we’re hoping you’ll consider supporting PublicSource’s work with a gift.

Why give? Simply put, when your neighbors have questions, they rely on PublicSource for in-depth local information. Here are some questions that our stories have explored so far this year:
* What happens to unhoused people when a shelter is closed? ([link removed])
* When aging, unmapped sewers need repairs, who pays? ([link removed])
* What was it like to be considered for the jury in the Tree of Life shooting case? ([link removed])
* With annexation “dead,” what’s next for Wilkinsburg? ([link removed])
* How did the state Department of Environmental Protection respond when Shell’s cracker plant repeatedly violated emissions limits? ([link removed])
* How did being told to “Speak English!” inspire a Pittsburgher to build a publication that celebrates local Latino culture? ([link removed])
* Why are two Pittsburgh high schools, three miles apart, so different for those who study and work there? ([link removed])

And if you need another reason to support us tomorrow, all donations will be DOUBLED up to $1,000! This is a limited-time chance to have your support go even further.

BUT WAIT! There’s another reason to make a gift on Tuesday — we’re offering a special giveaway. If you make a Giving Tuesday gift at GiveBigPittsburgh or on our website, you’ll be entered to win 2 tickets valued at $170 to the Glow Ball on Friday, December 1!** This one-of-a-kind event will be at Oakland’s iconic PAA building, illuminated for the holidays by artist Ian Brill. You'll enjoy food, 2 drink tickets, dancing and entertainment. Put on your fun and festive cocktail attire and get ready to glimmer, dazzle, sparkle, and glow!

Pittsburghers routinely tell us we produce reporting they want and need, but it takes reader support to keep producing it. We hope you’ll make a gift tomorrow and help sustain paywall-free, fact-checked local journalism for your neighbors. If you agree that this opportunity is too important to miss — and if you want a shot at Glow Ball tickets — just click the button below, and we’ll make sure you get a reminder.
