It's been over a year since I helped pass H.R. 1 -- the For the People Act -- in the House to unrig our democracy, get dark money out of politics, and put the power back in the hands of the American people once and for all. This proven commitment to big, structural reform is why I am proud to be endorsed by End Citizens United.

The For the People Act is the most significant government reform bill in decades -- but Mitch McConnell still refuses to bring this historic anti-corruption, pro-democracy legislation up for a vote in the Senate. With another election just around the corner, it's critical the For the People Act becomes the law of the land to ensure that the people -- not the special interests -- have their voices heard at the ballot box this year.

Our democracy is supposed to make life better for everyday people and working families, not bend to every whim of the special interests, global corporations, and the wealthiest few. The For the People Act advances many important reforms, including increasing campaign finance transparency and making it easier to vote by adopting New Jersey's automatic voter registration program.

These shouldn't be divisive, partisan issues. We're talking about common-sense reforms to restore trust in our democratic institutions and make sure every American has their voice heard.
