Reproductive rights AND democracy are under attack in Florida
Hey John, we have an urgent update on reproductive rights in Florida:
Florida’s Attorney General is seeking to override the will of the voters by BLOCKING a proposed ballot measure to protect abortion — a measure that over 400,000 Floridians have said they want on next year’s ballot.
The AG has said the proposed amendment is invalid, with no explanation as to why.
The proposed amendment would ban laws that restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the health of the mother — the absolute BARE MINIMUM in reproductive rights.
Republicans are scared. They know that when reproductive rights are put to a vote, they will always lose. That’s why they have to pack the courts with conservative judges and count on them to restrict women’s bodies.
