Team — Every American deserves to breathe clean air and drink clean water.
It’s a fundamental right — and I am not going to stay silent while oil monopolies pollute the Hudson River.
Recently, I demanded the Coast Guard uphold a ban that prevents dangerous barges carrying hazardous materials like oil and asphalt from parking in the Hudson River.
Hundreds of thousands of people get their drinking water from the Hudson River — and I’m fighting like hell to protect the health and safety of our residents from these toxic materials.
The good news is that the Coast Guard recently extended the ban on these barges. Because of local elected leaders and environmental activists in our community speaking out, our kids, our waterways, and our ecosystem will be protected for now.
The bad news? It’s a temporary measure — and we certainly can’t stop raising our voices to protect the Hudson River and the people who rely on it.
I’m taking action — but I can’t do it alone.
Please, add your name and share your thoughts about the oil barges polluting the Hudson River. Use this form, and we’ll use the power of our collective voices to make a difference and keep the river safe for us all.
Thank you for speaking out. I care deeply about this community and leaving a safe, clean environment for our kids and grandkids. Rest assured, I won’t give up the fight to protect the Hudson River — and I hope you’ll be in the fight alongside me.
Yours in service,
Pat
