Holidays are a tough time for military families as we are separated from extended family, traditions and sometimes even our service member! While I take pride in being a supportive military spouse, this time of year is particularly challenging.

Speaking with other spouses, we all worry about our service members: Do they have enough warm clothing to face the brutal winter? Are they safe? Do they get lonely when they're on shift and the rest of the family is gathered around the Thanksgiving table?

I can't emphasize how important the USO's programs have been in keeping us connected. Things that civilians can often take for granted, like making a phone call or having Wi-Fi, bring us together — even while we couldn't be farther apart. And it's so comforting to know that our service members far from home are getting what they need — from care packages filled with supplies to the comfort of a warm holiday meal.

But these programs powered by the USO are only possible thanks to the donations of military supporters like you, which is why I'm reaching out today to ask for your help. The USO is working to raise $50,000 to help unlock an exclusive match before Giving Tuesday, but we're still falling short of our goal with time running out. So please, can I count on you to step up for those military families separated during the holidays today?
