I’m writing with really special news: today we’re celebrating our 40th anniversary!

Since our founding, the National Institute for Reproductive Health and NIRH Action Fund have worked to expand access to reproductive health care, including abortion care, in communities all across the country.

In 1980, we grew from a small grassroots political organization founded to legalize abortion in New York into what we are today: a national advocacy organization dedicated to expanding access to reproductive health care in states and cities across the country.

Over the years, we’ve grown and evolved – and so have the threats we face. Can you make a $40 donation today in honor of NIRH’s 40th anniversary to sustain us for the battles ahead?

Today, the anti-abortion movement has consolidated power on every level, taking over the federal government and many state legislatures – resulting in more than 1,000 laws against abortion across the country and a hostile Supreme Court. NIRH is the only national group working hand-in-hand with a wide array of partner organizations on the ground across the country, expanding reproductive freedom everywhere.

In 2019, NIRH’s strategy of expanding access to abortion care at the state level resulted in a record number of protections passed. In 2020, that work is more important than ever.
