Let me let you in on a little secret, John:
Running a campaign is hard. I helped run Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign in 1992 to defeat George H.W. Bush, and it was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done.
It’s a lot of long days traveling and meeting folks.
It requires money — a whole lot of it.
And it requires some tough skin.
But it was also one of the greatest experiences of my life. Because of the work we put in, we got some incredible things done for the American people.
More than 22 million new jobs were created. Lowest unemployment in 30 years. Doubled investment into education. The highest number of Americans owning homes in history.
And that’s just the beginning. You think Republicans could’ve done that?
No chance in hell.
But things were different back then. Sure, we were fighting over very important issues — but the stakes have increased tenfold in the last few decades.
Now it’s about the basic truth. It’s about stopping a demagogue who wants to overturn our election and his allies who want to enable it.
I am damn proud to be a Democrat today and every day. But I know that we have a lot of work to do to continue winning and protecting the country we know and love.
That’s why I’m doing everything I can to uplift our incredible Democratic candidates and hold onto the Senate majority. My friends at Defend the Senate are heading toward their end-of-month deadline on 11/30, and I’m asking for your help:
Folks know how important this upcoming election is, which is why a generous group of donors just activated a 3X-MATCH offer for the first $25,000 donated before the month ends. Can I count on you to pitch in $10 (becomes $40) to Defend the Senate before their November fundraising deadline? >>
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
I could rail on and on about the BS Republicans are trying to sell — trust me, I have and I’ll keep doing it.
But I’m also tired of just complaining. I’m ready to do something about it. Are you?
Thank you for all your help.
