Well, friend, we've had a lot of long days in Congress lately. You might be feeling tired or discouraged by the political gamesmanship. I don't blame you. But we can't get cynical – because there are always, always, reasons for hope.

Personally, whenever I feel this way, I think about all of the people I've met on the road, from the committed workers on the UAW picket line to the brave activists fighting for abortion access. It's their stories that keep me motivated and energized. 

I firmly believe it's my duty and privilege to listen to as many Ohioans as possible – and honestly, it's the best part of this job. I'll always fight for every one of my constituents in the Senate.

That's the difference between my GOP opponents and me: They couldn't care less what Ohioans want or need. If they flip this seat, they're hellbent on passing a national abortion ban – despite the fact that a majority of Ohio voters disagree with them and just made that clear at the ballot box.

While I'm listening to Ohioans, my opponents are busy listening to their party bosses, like Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell. That's why we must do everything we can to defeat them.

But right now, polling shows this race is neck and neck, and the GOP is dumping millions into Ohio to pull ahead. Unlike my opponents, I don't have a personal fortune to rely on – the only way I can win this fight is with unprecedented grassroots support from folks like you.

I've got a big fundraising deadline coming up at midnight tonight, so I have to ask: Will you chip in $5 or more so I can win in Ohio, keep the Senate blue, and continue fighting for workers across the country?
