I’ve been doing this for a while and while a lot has changed about politics, the Republican obsession with ending Social Security hasn’t.
In fact, CNN is reporting that Social Security advocates fear the future of Social Security with Mike Johnson now Speaker of the House.
Please, will you join me in showing your support for Social Security? Let's show Republicans that we are ready to unite in 2024 to never, ever let them take our Social Security away. [[link removed]]
Social Security is a great American success story. Since becoming law, it's provided generations the dignified retirement they deserve after a lifetime of hard work.
Despite all the incredible success, Republicans keep dreaming up new ways to take it away. They've proposed privatizing, raising the minimum eligibility age, and even ending Social Security altogether. In the last election, the big policy idea was a radical plan to put the program up for a vote every five years. The House Republican caucus recommended cuts to Social Security as a part of their budget plan.
Now, advocates for Social Security are worried because new House Speaker Mike Johnson isn't ruling out major changes to the program.
It’s ridiculous. After a lifetime of hard work, our seniors and retirees deserve better. We made a promise. Thank goodness Democrats and the Biden-Harris administration are here to fight and make sure we keep it.
Will you join me by adding your name to show your support for Social Security? Let's reaffirm our commitment to keeping our promises to our nation's seniors and retirees. [[link removed]]

Thanks for joining me in supporting the President and Social Security today. I’m proud to be a Democrat and a strong supporter of President Biden because we always put what’s best for working families first.
Terry McAuliffe,
72nd Governor of Virginia
