We’re crunching the numbers here at MJ HQ because our first big quarterly FEC deadline is tomorrow. Based on what we’re expecting to raise over the next 36 hours or so, we need an additional 22 donors from Washington to give $12 so we can hit our goal of $50,000.

This is a can’t-miss goal, and it’s not arbitrary. Our fundraising numbers are about to become public, and people across Texas will look to our grassroots strength as the best measure of enthusiasm for MJ’s campaign. We have to come in strong.

We build our campaign budget based on important fundraising goals. This is our first FEC deadline since launching our campaign, so hitting this goal means hiring the staff we need, paying for ads that spread MJ’s message far and wide, and funding a robust field program.
