Highlighting the best of Claremont in 2023
The note below is part of a series of emails highlighting Claremont’s success over the past year, some behind-the-scenes, some never-told, all game-changing. We hope you delight in and are inspired by these achievements. They are your victories as much as ours. Tough battles are on the horizon. But we at the Claremont Institute are happy warriors. And we hope we can count on you remaining by our side as we approach 2024. Thank you for all of your support.
Dear Friend,
In case you missed some of our excellent research on the woke infiltration of our military—and the grave implications for our national security—I encourage you to read the testimony of the Director of our American Military Project, Will Thibeau, sounding the alarm before the Military Personnel Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee.

For an in-depth historical account of how the U.S. military went woke, I invite you to watch an interview with Will and our friends at the American Moment. (The president of American Moment, Saurabh Sharma, is a Claremont fellow as well.)

The Claremont Institute has long taken an interest in our armed forces and the pressing but sometimes under-the-radar dangers they face from within the federal bureaucracy. Our American Military Project recently catalogued the deeply politicized state of senior military officers. This groundbreaking research has laid bare the extent to which almost half of senior military officers make brazen political statements about leftist ideology like DEI and CRT.
Thanks to Will’s efforts, Claremont now spearheads a coalition supporting Senator Tommy Tuberville’s (R-AL) effort to hold the promotions of military officers from unchecked approval.
In related news, our Washington Fellow Scott Yenor and I released the findings of an investigation into woke indoctrination of children in the military K-12 education system. The findings are unsettling—all the more so since unlike other parents, members of the military often have no educational options for their children outside what the military provides.

Rest assured; Claremont is not content to simply publish reports. We are actively engaged behind the scenes, working with Congressional leaders to determine how to restrain, and ultimately eliminate, the metastasizing woke cancer taking over our military. Expect big news in the coming year. Together, we can stand up for a strong national defense.
