This week, 31 premature babies, along with 16 staff and family members, were evacuated from Shifa Hospital in Gaza city to the neonatal intensive care unit of a maternity hospital in southern Gaza.
All hospitals in northern Gaza are out of service, so this update is critical to the survival of these newborns amidst a crisis that’s seen more than 4,000 children killed already.
An estimated 1.6 million people are now internally displaced in increasingly desperate conditions. The amount of aid entering Gaza is just a drop in the ocean of what’s needed. That’s why we’re appealing to you today:
In anticipation of Giving Tuesday, we are 2x-MATCHING up to $150,000 in gifts made by private donors like you.
Please: In Gaza’s moment of need, will you make double the impact by donating today? Your emergency gift will deliver lifesaving care to women and girls impacted by crisis — in Gaza and wherever help is needed most.
UNFPA condemns the violence in Israel and Gaza and echoes the UN Secretary-General’s call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, for the immediate and unconditional release of hostages by Hamas, and for the delivery of sustained humanitarian relief at scale that meets the needs of the people of Gaza.
Thank you for stepping up today.
