In that spirit, I hope you'll watch a short clip of a speech I gave recently about the importance of social connection and how public policy needs to help make it easier for us to fight back against the forces of withdrawal and loneliness.

Talking about social isolation might not sound like something a Senator normally does. But this is an exceptional time in our nation’s history, when it feels like our country is coming apart at the edges. It’s a time when Senators need to be bold in asking questions about what is ailing America and what needs to change.
